Crashin' The Party by Somnicide Crashin' The Party by Somnicide
My final piece for 2D Design for my first semester at Ringling. Based off of an abstracted image, can be viewed here.

I'm quite proud of it, actually. About 20 hrs. Faster than a lot of my previous finished Illustrations and frankly, it looks better. I definitely feel this semester's improvement through this image. There are some compositional choices I would have changed had I had the freedom too, but the requirements of the project restricted that.

The narrative of the image is a powerful rogue witch breaking in to the castle of an enemy cult with an army of corrupted souls under her command. Her main minion, Zechry, is a composite of the souls of all of the cult leaders she has defeated in the past.

Your stories are badass, my friend and your paintings are even better. I love how this is from an abstract piece of art. Awesome.

I do love that smile on her face. kind of has a devious, self-assured quality... that or sadistic glee. The minion, Zechry, reminds me of Wayne Barlowe's demon concepts. Love it.

Now this is really something! Congrats again!
Loved the monster design (those nails made the final touch) and the clothes of the lady...

You did this in 20 hours? There's so much detail in this piece and so much effort! You told the story well in this piece, I pretty much got the gist before I read your description. Be proud!

I like the character design on this. Pleasantly dark and aggressive.
